The free code read at a parts store is a start, not an answer. One lean code can come from a cracked hose, a dirty sensor, a weak fuel pump, or a slow oxygen sensor. That is four repairs at four very different prices. Swapping the part the code names is how people spend hundreds and still see the light a week later.
Matt pulls the codes, reads live data, and runs the hands on tests that show the real cause. Then you get a plain answer. What failed, what it costs to fix, and whether the car is safe to drive for now. If you want it fixed, it can usually happen on the spot.

Yes. The fault stays in memory after the light clears. Reading it now is cheap insurance against the same failure at a worse time.
